On 21 March, the opening ceremony of the "China Today" 2024 Arts Week and Ethnic Instrumental Music of China's "Golden Bell Star" took place. The event was supported by: Chinese Federation of Literature and Art Circles; Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Brazil; Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Rio de Janeiro; State Secretariat for Culture and Creative Economy RJ; RioMont Art and Culture Association; Association of Chinese Musicians, Sino-Brazilian Friendship Association.
The event took place at the Copacabana Fortress in Rio de Janeiro.
Henrique Couto da Nóbrega, president of the Sino-Brazilian Friendship Association, attended the event.
The 50th anniversary logo emphasises the re-establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Brazil. These relations were broken following the case of the nine Chinese arrested in Rio de Janeiro shortly after the 1964 military coup.
