Last Monday, 9 September 2024, the President of the Brazil China Friendship Association, Mr Henrique da Nóbrega, received a visit from the Rector of the Southwest China University of Law and Politics and Professor Liu Huawen, Member, UN Committee against Torture, Deputy Director and Professor of the Institute of International Law of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS).
In addition to the visit, Mr Henrique da Nóbrega was invited to participate on Wednesday as a speaker at the First China-Latin American and Caribbean States Roundtable on Human Rights, at the Windsor Hotel in Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro.
The event was held in partnership with the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and was attended by several professors from renowned universities in both China and Latin America.
Human rights are a symbol of progress in civilisation. Promoting and protecting these rights is a mission shared by all of humanity. To advance the Global Civilisation Initiative and celebrate the 50th anniversary of China-Brazil diplomatic relations and the 10th anniversary of the China-CELAC Forum, the Chinese Society for Human Rights Studies, Renmin University of China and UFF co-organised this Roundtable.

At this event, the President of the Sino-Brazilian Association, Dr Henrique da Nóbrega, spoke about the Challenges and Current Solutions for the Global Governance of Human Rights.
