40 Years of Dragon: The Saga of Chinese Culture in the Heart of Rio
The Chinese Cultural Association of Rio de Janeiro is celebrating 40 years of a trajectory marked by challenges and great achievements. Leandro Su, Secretary General of the Association, was the mastermind behind the commemorative event that marks this important date.
A Story of Overcoming and Growth
Founded four decades ago, the Chinese Cultural Association has faced many challenges over the years, but has always succeeded in its mission to support the Chinese community in Rio de Janeiro. "We've been through many challenges, but we've managed to grow and strengthen our community," says Leandro Su. With three floors dedicated to promoting Chinese culture, the association also supports municipal schools and promotes the relationship between Brazil and China.
An Expanding Community
With more than 20,000 members, the Chinese community in Rio de Janeiro has found a point of reference in the association. The organisation offers free Mandarin courses, support in finding jobs and investment opportunities, as well as promoting cultural and economic partnerships.
An International Partnership
The bond between Brazil and China is stronger than ever, and the association plays a crucial role in this relationship. "China is Brazil's biggest trading partner, and our association has helped to strengthen this partnership even further," explains Leandro Su.
The Association's Legacy
Over the years, the association has had different leaders, each of whom has made a unique contribution to its growth. Despite some legal challenges faced in the past, all have been resolved, and the association continues to pursue its mission in accordance with the law. "We are always ready to make new partnerships and further promote this friendship between Brazil and China," adds Leandro Su.
A Final Message
With a 40-year history of success, the Chinese Cultural Association of Rio de Janeiro invites everyone to get to know its activities and join in the mission to promote Chinese culture in Brazil. "Our goal is to continue growing and to further strengthen the ties between our two countries," concludes Leandro Su.
