The President of the Sino-Brazilian Cultural Association Danillo Santos, Henrique Couto da Nóbrega, accompanied by the Association's Second Treasurer, Mr Leonardo Costa Farias, together with the Brazilian delegation that accompanied them, were received in Beijing on 26 August 2023 by Mr Yang Wanming, former Chinese ambassador to Brazil and current president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC).
The meeting was very fruitful and the parties were able to discuss topics and issues related to the two associations, as well as map out common future projects.
Mr Yang Wanming warmly welcomed the visit of President Henrique Nóbrega with his delegation and highly valued the great amount of work that the Brazil-China Friendship Association has done over the years to promote understanding and friendship between the two.
Mr Yang Wanming said that Mr Danillo Santos, former president of the Brazil-China Friendship Association, had dedicated his life to the cause of friendship between Brazil and China and had made extraordinary contributions.
"During my term as Brazilian ambassador, I received the active support of President Santos and the Brazil-China Friendship Association. I am deeply grateful for that."

It is hoped that the Brazil-China Friendship Association will inherit the spirit of former President Danillo Santos and combine co-operation between the two countries to further improve friendship and co-operation between the two peoples.
Mr Yang Wanming said that the Chinese people support China and Brazil to deepen their comprehensive strategic partnership. Under the current international situation, strengthening co-operation between China and Brazil will not only benefit the two peoples, but will also have a positive impact on global stability and development.
Mr Henrique Nóbrega said it was a great honour to succeed Mr Danillo Santos as chairman of the Brazil-China Friendship Association. Recently, the Brazil-China Friendship Association has been willing to further strengthen and tighten ties with the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries in order to improve friendly exchanges between the countries, with an emphasis on the fields of technological innovation, smart cities and academic research.
